Launching PowderClause Media marks a pivotal, exhilarating new chapter in my career. After 25 years in the ski industry and four years in real estate, I am jumping all in. Getting to this place has had its challenges and has made me evaluate what’s important in my life. For the past few years, I have been struggling mentally about leaving my job at Grand Targhee Resort. I loved working at the resort, and the team was amazing. Mentally, it took a toll on me as it is a hard culture to thrive in; this made me take a hard look at who I wanted to work for.
I recognized I’d lost the confident, capable person I once was. To regain my sense of self, I left my ski-industry job and entered real estate, becoming the Director of Marketing at Engel & Völkers across multiple locations. Taking on this new role with over 40 advisors revitalized my professional energy.
This role boosted my confidence, exposed me to diverse personalities, and expanded my creative skills. The positive environment and driven advisors inspired me to grow professionally.
I have stepped back from the full-time Director of Marketing role, and I am excited about the next chapter in my success. I know I am the one who drives my success, and it starts with good mental health. I have been working on how I talk to myself, therapy, and taking time for my personal health. I dove deep into self-help books, journaling, and getting plenty of exercise to relax my mind and body. I have even been working on being consistent with meditation and reminding myself that I can do this. With the incredible support of friends and family, this is becoming a habit rather than a random act here and there.
For the first time since college, I paused instead of rushing into a new role. Time with family over the holidays grounded me, and I’m choosing to build my business intentionally—accepting future challenges and pacing myself for long-term growth.
And here is where it begins! My website is built, my email platform is ready, my budget is in place, my database is growing, and I am leaning into the fear of failing and succeeding. I know I deserve this, and I know I am going to excel. For now, one step at a time, one blog at a time, and one client at a time. I am excited to share my journey and projects with you, so stay tuned and cheers to a new future.
